Meet Alondra Cristal Soto! Alondra is a senior with a double major in Psychology and Spanish. She studied abroad in Seville, Spain through CIEE. Like many students, Alondra thought studying abroad would not be financially possible, but after attending Dr. Susan Weiner's scholarship workshop, she applied for and was awarded the Gilman scholarship and two grants from CIEE! Of her time abroad, Alondra writes, "I chose to stay with a Spanish family. I practiced the language, immersed in the culture and cuisine and made a second family. In many occasions, I missed Stockton and Pacific, but if given the opportunity to study in another country once again, I would take it!" Take the leap! #PacificAbroad

Meet Sandy Tellez! Sandy is a junior majoring in International Relations with a minor in Management. She studied abroad in Seoul, South Korea at Yonsei University through CIEE. Sandy won a Gilman scholarship and is passionate about helping other Pacific students realize they too can study abroad, ESPECIALLY if they think they can't afford it! Her semester abroad was full of amazing experiences including attending the 20th anniversary concert of her favorite Korean singers and taking advantage of the opportunity to travel all around the country. Meet Chris Mitchell! Chris is a senior International Relations and Political Science double major with a Japanese minor. He studied abroad for a full year at Pacific's partner, Kwansei Gakuin University, in Nishinomiya, Japan. By spending TWO SEMESTERS abroad, Chris was able to experience the full range of Japanese culture--both the traditional and the modern--and built relationships at both ends of the spectum. Whether it was being invited into the home of a tea ceremony master or translating for a group of Tokyo businessman at a tiny pub late into the night, he took advantage of every opportunity to immerse himself in the local culture. Sound exciting? #pacificabroad

Meet Cindy Tang! Cindy is a senior Psychology major with a Graphic Design minor. She studied in London at Queen Mary University with IES Abroad. Cindy writes, "Before going abroad, I was really anxious and nervous about everything that could possibly go wrong, but once I got off my plane and landed in London, most of my worries went away. During my experience, I met some of the most amazing people from all over the world. I also learned a lot about other cultures, and even more about who I am and what I want to become. This journey has definitely humbled me in a lot of different ways and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. So to all the other students who are debating on going, don't be afraid because it's the best thing that will happen, and to those who haven't even considered it an option, please do, because your only limit is you." Study Abroad is for you! #PacificAbroad

Meet Ariana Whitmarsh! Ariana is a senior Speech Language Pathology major with a Psychology minor. She studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland through CIEE. She writes, "The people I met in Ireland and on weekend trips were amazing and taught me so much about their culture. I think the highlight of my stay in Ireland would be my weekend trip to Galway, a small town on the coast of West Ireland. Galway had amazing music and nightlife; the streets were full of Irish pride. During the weekend, I also hiked the Cliffs of Moher which was so beautiful. My advice for any students thinking about going abroad is to do it." You heard her. Apply now! #pacificabroad
